About Us
Dipstick Man might be a new name but the manufacturing of dipsticks has been a family business since before 1960. The business was started as a sideline of Bell's Contractors a tank construction business in the petroleum industry. Marthy Linde founder of Bell's Contractors was born and raised in the West Rand and a well known business man until his death in 2007.
After Marty's death the dipstick business was continued by his companion and business partner of the last 22 years, Porky Rennie. She on her own managed the business for the next 8 years and became loved and admired by all the customers. In 2015 the business moved on to Porky's son in law, Vic Pienaar and is now known as Dipstick Man.
The manufacturing of dipsticks up to now was a manual process of transferring dip chart markings to the wood or aluminum sticks. In the last year Vic acquired a laser engraver for the timber dipsticks that is not only clear and neat but also done perfectly accurate to the dip chart calculations.
